Story
iQ is the resident app for student housing. Move-in, parcels, and a broken tap used to live in different places.
I designed them as one phone app. Onboarding walks through FastPass, offers, fixes, and parcel alerts. Home keeps laundry, deliveries, and the booking together. A fix or a question goes to the team from the same place.

Name the behavior first
Kristen Berman's rule for behavioral design is to get specific about the one behavior. Here it was a resident finishing a maintenance request, not opening the app. Every screen was judged by whether it moved that number.
Remove the barrier, show the benefit
The old path spread move-in, parcels, and repairs across different places. One home screen and one way to ask for help removed the barrier. Parcel alerts and FastPass show a benefit on day one, which is what earns the next visit.
Onboarding sells the feature people will need later
Lenny's archive names the empty state and the first tour as the cheapest adoption lever for features that already exist. The iQ onboarding introduces fixes before anything breaks, so the request path is known when it is needed.
